About the October 21 Community Learning Session
Join an online public community learning series as a special work group reviews Arlington policing policies and practices, with this session mainly focused on alternative dispute resolutions. The goal is to ensure the use of best practices and reinforce trust between our police and the community. Learn more about the PPG and work groups.

About the Guest Speakers
Frank Straub: Frank Straub is the Director of the Center for Mass Violence Response Studies at the National Police Foundation. He previously served as the Chief of the Spokane, Washington, Police Department, Director of Public Safety for the City of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Public Safety Commissioner for the City of White Plains, New York. Frank will focus on the issue of Police as Peacekeepers and alternative approaches to traditional policing.
Mary Williams: Mary Williams is the Program Manager for the City of Charlotte Community Relations Department, Dispute Settlement Program. The Dispute Settlement Program has been providing mediation and conciliation services to Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents since 1983. Mary will share with us how her agency uses mediation in lieu of traditional criminal justice alternatives.
